Blue is such a versatile colour: calming and inspiring, ordered and authoritave, informative and stimulating the brain to learn new things, evoking cleanliness and hygiene until the soothing dark of night has arrived, when even the most fertile and active of minds must shut down.
I love taking the dog out to the woods nearby. Scattered amidst these ancient trees are some ponds, where the air is still and pure. The smell of moss and wild flowers is delicious, but above all, I love the colours: deep mysterious blues, succulent dark greens and restful browns.
It started small. Just three half circles looking for some context. Then came the golden rays. And some golden adornments. More depth: caramels, russets and black. Time to stop, I think, and get back to work.
I love colours. Medoc wine. Frosted views from my bedroom window in the mornings. A crackling fire in my woodburner. In the summer: the smell of hay, and the sound of washing flapping on the washing line. A freshly brewed pot of tea with china cups and a little vase of pansies on a tray. And creating collages on Polyvore without getting glue stuck all over my fingers!
